A combination of daytime highs in the lower 90s coupled with dew points in the upper 70s will result in heat index values up to 110 today. As a result, a Heat Advisory will be in effect from 10 AM this morning to 6 PM this evening. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible Sunday through Thursday. The primary hazards will be lightning strikes and locally gusty winds. In addition, a combination of daytime highs in the lower 90s coupled with dew points in the mid to upper 70s may result in heat index values exceeding 108. Should confidence increase that these values will exceed 108, a Heat Advisory may be required Sunday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected at this time. $$ JAM

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids and take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
